I have looked around and tried what everyone was saying to fix my folder for minecraft. I am unable to find the minecraft.jar file. I have uninstalled and deleted all my files, reinstalled at it all is the same as before. I have went into my options and clicked "show hidden files". I want to add a mod or two to my minecraft but still cant figure out what is wrong.
This is what my .minecraft/bin folder looks like. Please help, I am tired of trying the same things over and over!!!!
Well, your jar file is right there, the sixth file from the top, the one simply named "minecraft".
Remember to delete the META-INF file or you will just get a black screen.
Also, make a copy of your .minecraft folder before you start installing stuff, incase you mess something up and corrupt all your saves and such...
You're trying to run the file. To open it you will need some sort of zip archiver like 7-zip / Winrar. You should already have some sort pre installed, right-click the file and choose "open with > ...".
