So I've been playing Minecraft with a nice selection of mods (imo, of course), and have gotten really far into my current world, farther than I've ever gotten before (Alchemy station and Enchanting Table, yeah!). Everything seemed to be going fine until late yesterday, when the game crashed. I reloaded, and the map was fine...for 15 minutes. 15 minutes later, crash again. Reloaded, 15 minutes later, crash AGAIN. I looked at the crash report and this is what it said:
Any idea what might be wreaking havoc on my save file? I did look up about a few of the specifics that MC spewed out in technobabble, but it didn't look promising, with save corruption being the most common culprit I expect people more knowledgeable than I might figure out what's really wrong though.
BTW, in case you're wondering which mods I use, here's the list, separated from the crash report:
Magic Launcher 1.1.5 (this sucker's great for quickly testing new mod configs )
Forge release 707 (not up to date, but the version of Optifine I use doesn't like the most recent forge build, so I had to use an older one to allow ladders to function properly)
Optifine (not up to date, it's one release behind...strangely enough the game stopped whining about updating shortly before this crashing issue started, possibly related somehow?)
Mo Creatures and its dependencies
Millenaire
Biomes o Plenty
Asgard Shield (no addons)
Balkon's Weapon Mod
If anyone could make sense of this issue, I'd be very happy. Thanks
I apologize profusely for bumping, but I would really appreciate some haste in figuring out what to do about my save file. I REALLY don't want to play it as long as I risk corrupting it further through gameplay, so knowing what the heck's making it crash after 15 minutes in my world would be great. Ought to also note that in testing a separate world it didn't crash at all, so it is looking more and more likely to be a broken world file
And yes I know bumping isn't normally allowed, but given that the only other option for my issue would be to post a new topic, I figured bumping would be the lesser of two evils. I'll gladly eat a moderation if I have to, but this is kinda desperate as I REALLY have been enjoying my save and would like confirmation of what's wrong with it.
EDIT: I'm kinda suspecting the Nether portal I built in the open is at fault. Upon doing more looking it seems that the way 1.5.2 handles Nether portals is inherently unstable as all heck. Specifically, it now lets mobs travel between dimensions...which given the rather crazy number of mobs Mo' Creatures spawns out in the open, means that the Nether almost always has a truckload of Overworld mobs plopping through. Why this change happened I dunno, but it really forces you to put Nether Portals in enclosed, brightly lit spaces, as wide open spaces just causes massive instability due to the mobs constantly jumping between dimensions and wreaking havoc on the internal server's memory. Even if this isn't the case and mobs gating through is completely stable, it does make a sort of sick sense when you consider that this instability began shortly after I did a truckload of Nether exploring, seeking at least one Blaze rod...perhaps something broke in that transition? Whatever the case it really convinces me that any future Nether portals MUST be enclosed, so that this mess never happens again :/
