As the title implies, I'm having black screen issues. I recently forced an update on my minecraft.jar file and while trying to set it up with some mods, I'm able to launch the client and forge modloader works until it leaves me at a black screen. I have a log file with the following being the first sign of something gone wrong before a long list of STDERRs:
2013-06-25 20:59:29 [FINEST] [ForgeModLoader] Testing mod RedPowerCore to verify it accepts its own version in a remote connection
2013-06-25 20:59:29 [FINEST] [ForgeModLoader] The mod RedPowerCore accepts its own version (2.0pr6)
2013-06-25 20:59:29 [FINE] [ForgeModLoader] Attempting to inject @SidedProxy classes into RedPowerCore
2013-06-25 20:59:30 [INFO] [STDERR] Exception in thread "Minecraft main thread" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/eloraam/redpower/base/ItemDyeIndigo
Essentially, it looks for the item 'Indigo Dye' but finds nothing there, perhaps because it didn't load, and following that, emits a long string of STDERRs because it cannot continue running after that first error.
My setup is as follows: Magic Launcher running unmodded minecraft.jar 1.5.2 (and loading all mods onto the clean copy of the jar via forge)
The order I have it set to load mods is as follows (asterisk on involved mods - 'for 1.5.2' on mods that were made for version 1.5.2):
Forge universal for 1.5.2 (Build 7.8.0.683) *
Optifine HD U D5 for 1.5.2
ReiMinimap 3.3
ComputerCraft 1.53 for 1.5.2
BaM's Flat Bedrock Layer ForgeDirect684 for 1.5.2
BaM's Grave 1.4 for 1.5.2
Redpower Core 2 (prerelease 6)
Redpower Digital 2 (prerelease 6)
Redpower Mechanical 2 (prerelease 6)
Redpower Compatibility 2 (prerelease 6)
Not Enough Items 1.5.2.28
Not Enough Items Redpower Plugin 1.4.3.1
CodeChicken Core 0.8.7.1 (loaded as a core mod)
Now, I know that redpower should be compatible, as I had it running on 1.5.1
I also am fairly certain I've updated all of NEI (Not Enough Items and CodeChicken Core).
I don't know where the error is coming from. If you need additional information, feel free to request it; I have saved the full log file if it is needed. Thanks in advance for helping me to get minecraft running again, and just to clarify, I can run it without mods just fine.
EDIT:
Alright, by disabling Redpower 2 (and the plugins for it) and Rei's Minimap (which gave errors afterwards), it loads.
Unfortunately, Redpower 2 is a mod I use quite often because of its polish and integration with normal minecraft gameplay mechanics. Having tried IndustrialCraft and BuildCraft, they both felt like an addition with little to do with the actual game and were also needlessly complicated and convoluted to work with (damaging my world because of a steady supply of water to combustion engines? No thanks)
I can live without both mods, but if there is a solution to get either one working with 1.5.2, I'd love to hear it. Otherwise, are there any comparable mods I can use? Vanilla minecraft is just too much of a grind with too little automation for me to enjoy, so rather than going for mods like Thaumcraft (which add bells and whistles), I want ones that simple give me more control over the ease of play without removing the grind (mods that let me make music with the pre-existing bells and whistles).
