I recently installed Feed the Beast Ultimate with Sphax BDCraft 128x on my PC (specs below). Because of FTB Ultimate I am on minecraft 1.4.7. I also installed Optifine Ultra and Sonic Ether's shaders. My FPS in vanilla minecraft is around 150 with everything maxxed, and with Optifine I get about 10-20 FPS. Installing Sonic Ether's shaders did NOT hurt my FPS for some reason. On Optifine I use Fancy graphics and and Far distance. I have tried to use the Multi-core option in optifine, but it just makes transparent chunks rapidly spawn in and out. Here are some other things I have tried: (none have worked)
1. Installed Java 7 64 bit
2. Made sure it was not running on integrated graphics (GPU usage goes up to 50% when playing)
3. Added FTB launcher and javaaw.exe to NVIDIA control panel
4. Set render distance to normal (gave like 1-3 extra FPS)
5. Allocated more RAM via FTB launcher, tried anywhere from 1GB-12GB
I think the problem might be optifine, but I need optifine for my texture mods+shaders.
Specs:
i7 3820 Processor @ 3.6 Ghz
2x GTX 670 Superclocked 4GB VRAM each (314.22 NVIDIA drivers)
16GB RAM
Windows 7 64 bit
That could be it, but
1. I'm not sure if I even have integrated graphics
2. As I said my GPU usage goes up when playing (to around 50%)
3. If that was the case, I don't know how to make it run off of my GTX 670s
Also, one other helper, Sphax PureBDCraft 128x? Try another smaller resolution for Feed The Beast only.

Smooth lighting off.
Render distance less than far.
I also have FTB and doing this helped my fps.
