Minecraft crashes upon startup when I have the Aether mod installed. The other mods I have (which seem to work fine) are Twilight Forest, Rei's Minimap, and TMI, with Forge... and of course the other modlets that I'm supposed to have for Aether to work.
The log is as follows.

Uhh convoluted much?
Just do a force update, then see if Aether II has any specific instructions for installation, or install Magiclauncher which makes adding, testing and removing mods a breeze, and will not course you to have to do a force update every time a mod isn't compatible.

Am I doing something wrong?
Follow these steps:
Step 1. Navigate to your .minecraft folder
Step 2. Delete everything ( except your saves if you want to keep your worlds ).
Step 3. Delete Minecraft.exe off your computer.
Step 4. Reinstall Minecraft on your computer.
