I am fairly new to MineCraft. I just downloaded MineCraft forge modloader and every time i run the game, it goes to a black screen and does not go beyond that after showing the mojang logo. Could someone help me figure out what is going on?
Did you install any mods along with FML? I've done the same and was greeted by a black screen after the logo. However, with the FML files themselves, MC works fine. If you find out anything, please tell me!

no actually, i have not tried to add mods to it. I remember in 1.4.6 i didnt have to install any mods to get forge to work. it went straight to the title screen and said at the bottom left that FML was running. but i will try installing a mod or two. ill get back to you when i finish.
ok i downloaded forge modloader 1.4.7. i installed rei's minimap mod for minecraft 1.4.7 by copying all the files to the .jar file. after the mojang logo, i got a message saying " forge mod loader has found a problem with your minecraft installation. you have mod sources that are duplicated within your system. mod id File name: mod_reiminimap: minecraft.jar and mod_reiminimap: rei-minimap-mod-1.4.5.zip.hey i got it to work. i had to go to the mods folder in the .jar file and delete all the 1.4.5 mods and files. im guessing that is what fixed it because it is now working for me. thank you PythonZ for the help. yes kiwi, i did. that was the first thing i did when i opened the .jar file. every thing is working now. i posted how i got it working in my last post on this forum. but thanks anyway.
I installed Battle Gear Mod in the order with Modloader anedgeg Player MSI thiny... an deleted meta-ingf and all dat crap and it will still just go on black screen I AM VERY ED I just need HELP!!!!!!>

Only Forge needs to go into the .jar, Rei's Minimap goes into the mods folder that gets created
