This is a first for me and I do not understand what happened. I built an underground base in the side of a cliff, and once I was happy with its progress, I went exploring to the north and west of my base. Upon returning to my base, the entire eastern portion of the base was filled in with dirt/stone, and my chests, enchanting room, brewing stand, and nether portal were all gone. I had an eight block wide wheat farm behind a glass viewing wall, and all but two lines of wheat had been replaced by stone. The only portion of my structure remaining on the eastern half, was the entrance foyer I had built against the cliff face. The one thing I can think of that may have been a factor is that I saved to title while off-map to the west of my fully zoomed map which was centered on my base. I know I have been off map in other games, but have not seen this before, although I cannot say if my base was above or below ground at those times. As you can imagine, this is extremely frustrating since I lost at least ten chests and all their contents, along with the above mentioned items. Any ideas on how to prevent this in the future (short of staying within sight of my front door at all times) would be appreciated.

I'm not totally sure why or how to fix it. But it sounds like the chunk reset itself. A weird issue happened to me yesterday as well where the entire chunk that my Nether Wart farm was sitting on just rose out of the ground and became a forest. That should help others diagnose the problem, sorry I couldnt help, im currently investigating, myself.

Still looking for any assistance. Am so irritated by losing all my items I haven't even started MC since, and would like to play again. ANY ideas?! Thanks in advance.
