Hi everyone, I hope someone can please help me with this. I have really over-modded my minecraft (nearly 100 mods installed at this point), and it has only started getting buggy in the last 3-4 that I have installed (Thaumcraft 3 being one of them). Anyway, I am looking to learn what the optimum settings are for what I am trying to play.
My computer specs are as follows:
i7 Quad Core processor
16gb Ram DDR3
AMD Radeon 7970 Vid card
SSD HD
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
So you would think I am clear, but what has happened is lately the system will run ok for about 3-4 minutes, then I get shutting down Internal server errors. It won't completely shut down, and I end up having to use Task Manager to kill it.
Here is the list of mods I have installed:
Forge
IC2
IC2 Advanced Machines
Buildcraft 3
Thaumcraft 3
The Lord Of the Rings
Trapcraft
Project Bench
Adventure Kit
Applied Energistics
Back Packs
Back Tools
BACRv4
Balkons Weapons Mod
Basic Components
Bibliocraft
Chargepads
Chicken Chunks
CJB Api
CJB Cheats
CJB More Info

Dr Zharks Mo Creatures
Universal Exchange 3
ExtraBiomes XL
Factorization
Forestry
Gravestones
Gravity Gun
IC2 Nuclear Control addon
iChun Utils
Inventory Tweak
Iron Chests
Magical Crops
Falling Meteors
Minefactory Reloaded
Advanced Solar Panels add on
Additional Pipes
GraviSuite
Modular Powersuits

Nei Plugins
Optifine
Portal Gun
Power Convertors
RailCraft
REIs MiniMap
Ruins
Thermal Expansion
Twilight Forest
Useful Food

CoFH Core
PowerCrystals Core
... phew!
What the heck settings should I use? Maybe I am too modded up for my own good. Some of those are ones I would remove, but my beloved worlds have blocks in them from several mods, and now I am afraid to remove them for fear of breaking my worlds...
Anyone who can please help, I would really appreciate some ideas...
As far as I know, I am running 64-bit. I have read on some posts that you need to do something special so that the launcher doesn't default to 32bit. Since before Optifine I had the FAR render option without the 64-bit suggested message, I think I am already there.
Even right clicking on a crafting table now sometimes drops me out to Shutting Down Server. Maybe I just go buy another 16gb of ram. Seems crazy for a game...
16 gigs of ram is very good. Try updating all your mods( which will be a big pane) and for that fact forge as well. I am running at 94 mods and have errors a lot too. Not uncommon.
