When I try to use Misa's realistic texture pack with Optifine (version D3 Ultra), my framerate consistently crashes to 2 FPS other than a spike or 4 or 5 here and there. My laptop is perfectly capable of handling the added graphics load of a 64x64 texture pack; when I launch Minecraft using the new launcher (thus not loading Optifine), I get around 25 FPS at worst when I am using Misa's. So the problem is not due to Misa's texture pack alone. I am also able to run an equal-resolution texture pack (AntVenom's faithful 64x64) and a higher-resolution pack (BDCraft 128x128) with no problems whatsoever. Optifine seemingly interacts perfectly with every other texture pack (the two I just mentioned, as well as Faithful 32x32 and OCD 16x16).
What is causing the combination of Misa's and Optifine to absolutely destroy my framerate? I absolutely love both, and I want to use both. But until I find a solution to this, I've been forced to set Misa's texture pack aside.
Consider the fact that Misa's texture pack has alot of features packed into it, and it may be conflicting with Optifine in certain ways. Please also note that there is a memory leak issue within 1.5 that severely affects performance of, or even crashes Minecraft when a user tries to use a HD texture pack or switch between texture packs. This is a known bug and has been fixed in 1.6.
Currently down for maintenance... where do I file a bug report for the bug reports?
Could you give an example (could be hypothetical, I just need a frame of reference) of a potential conflict? I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how a texture pack could conflict.
Is there a way to test if the 1.5 memory leak is my problem? I'm able to switch between texture packs (even from Misa's to another HD pack) just fine.
