Hey party people, I've got a Minecraft problem and I think you might just be able to help me. When I play vanilla everything runs fine and my fps is about 30 for pretty much everything, but when I start modding things go all to hell. It's not a RAM issue, my physical memory usage goes all the way up to a 100%, so Java isn't doing something right, or that's my guess anyway.
I'm running Magic Launcher and a few mods that fit my current play style, and the fps starts out fine then drops to 8 or below and I get lag spikes all the time.
List of mods:
MoCreatures and everything needed to run it
Rei's Minimap
Damage Indicators
Ars Magica
Backpack
Campfire Mod
Extra biomes XL
forestry
Household Gods
Inventory Tweaks
Forge
Optifine
Thaumcraft
Thaumic Tinkerer
Twolight forest
Balkin's Weapon Mod
I understand that I have a lot of extra stuff, but I've got a good computer, and SC2 and DoTA 2 can be run on medium to high graphics settings without dropping to an fps of fekking 8.
Specs:
4 gb DDR3 memory
i5-2430M
Intel HD Graphics 3000
500 gb HDD
Any help you guys can give me would be much appreciated.

A bunch of those mods need that RAM, namely Twilight forest, and Mo' Creatures. You can try to limit how much RAM Java can reserve in Magic Launcher's options tab of setup, but you run the risk of crashing or severe lag. I'm running only Twilight forest and Buildcraft, and it's using 1.7 gigs of ram just alone.
