OK been battling this for sometime on and off by myself, I am finally reaching out to find out what is going on or what am I doing wrong. I have been playing minecraft for about a year now (since 1.2.5) and have noticed the drop in performance each major update. A lot of time this is easily remedied with optfine, making minecraft use 64 bit Java, and allocating more ram then the 1GB default. Now I do have a number of mods installed, and a HD texture pack but with my current specs I hear players with just as many mods and lower end machines even laptops having better performance than me. OK now that is said here is my specs on my machine and my list of mods and settings I am using.
Machine: Intel i5 760 Quad Core 3.41 Ghz (OCed)
16 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
SATA 3GB/s HDD
EVGA GeForce 450 GTS 1GB PCI-E Video Card
Seems more than enough to handle minecraft and a few mods...
Here are my mods: Optifine 1.5.2 HD U D2, Forge 7.8.0.700, Dynamic Lights, Backpack, CalenderGUI, GraveStone, Inventory Tweaks, Minions, TreeFeller, Natura, Ruins, and Tinkers Construct
Using Inspiration_5 HD Texture pack which I think is 32x32
Also have Minecraft using 64 bit java with 2GB Min RAM and up to 6GB Max Ram
Optifine Settings: Distance Far, Max FPS, AdvOpenGL off, smooth lighting max, graphics fancy, Chunk Loading Smooth, Fog fast, Fog start .8, Could fancy, trees and water default, cloud height 14% grass fancy, rain and snow fancy (but have had no storms yet so dont know if that effects my performance) All Animations On, mipmap off, Anisotropic filerting off, clear water on, better grass off, custom fonts on, swamp colors on, connected textures fancy, custom sky on, mipmap type nearest, AA off, random mobs on, better snow off, custom colors on, smooth biomes on, natural textures off, smooth fps on, load far off, chunk updates per frame 1, lazy chunk loading off, smooth world off, preloaded chunks off, dynamic updates on, other setting were left alone.
is it just too much for my rig to actually handle.. if so I feel really inadequate with the machine I have lol
Any feedback or suggestions would be helpfull, and thanks.
