If I run base minecraft 1.52 on 3 LAN clients on same 192.x.x.x subnet, I have no problems connecting the clients to a LAN hosted on any of them from any other. If I use either forge ver. 707 or 712, i cannot get the clients to connect (generic Internal Server Error).
I'm so used to swapping mods and minecraft.jars, it had never occurred to me that forge itself was causing issues. While troubleshooting, I had:
a) uninstalled/reinstalled the same version of java on all 3 clients with a couple of restarts and cache clears added firewall rules both inbound and outbound, eventually temproarily turning all firewalls off tried 1.51 versions of various personal modpacks with no issue
Now, when I connect base 1.52 Minecraft with firewalls ON, they can connect and see each other just fine. With firewalls OFF, base minecraft + forge 707 or 712 on the clients does not allow client connection.
It's driven me batty. I've never had this problem seemingly related to forge versions before. Sure, have had problems with different mods requiring different versions of forge before and trying to find a 'universal' one. But to not allow LAN connection all together, with no other mods installed?
Is anyone else able to run FML on a LAN with minecraft 1.5.2? If so, what version?
If this is the wrong forum to ask forum to ask forge-related questions, I apologize (is there another place here at minecraftforum.net?). Minecraftforum.net is still down....
