Hey everyone,
There's a bit of an annoyance for me while playing Minecraft. I have several big mods installed and I'm using Sphax's 512x512 texture pack. I have a pretty strong system with 16 GB or RAM, so I've allocated 8GB to Minecraft through MultiMC. However, while playing, the memory usage climbs to around 3GB and drops back down to 300MB, repeating that over and over again (due to a memory leak, I suppose). This has become a problem because I've noticed that every time it drops to 300MB, the framerate drops to 30fps (which is not really playable for me). It then starts to climb back up to that 3GB, hitting a max of 120fps at the 3GB point, and drops again. My question is, is there a way to stop these memory leaks so that my framerate will be stable?
My specs: (yes it is a laptop)
Intel Core i7-3630qm @ 2.4 GHz
Nvidia GeForce GT650m 2GB GDDR5 OC'ed to 880MHz/1300MHz(2600MHz effective)
16 GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM
128GB mSATA SSD
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Java 1.7 update 21 64-bit
I don't think it's a problem with the mods, as memory leaks were happening before I installed any mods or any HD textures, although it was only climbing to 600MB and dropping to 200MB.
Thanks!
