GLSL Shaders mod lag issue

I have installed GLSL shaders mod with no problems. I have a Geforce GTX 660 graphics card. When I try to run GLSL shaders mod I get lag so that my fps is around 20fps. Usually I get 100-200 fps. I was wondering if there was any way that I could push more of the graphics to the GPU instead of munching on my CPU to generate graphics. I belive thats whats causing the lag.

Optifine, Allocating more RAM, Using JVM Arguments. That all works

Optifine is a requirement for the mod so thats already in there. I have tried allocating more ram but it doesn't help.
