I recently downloaded the mods, Amnesia and The Hunger Games for minecraft including the Modloader. I have followed at least half a dozen tutorials on how to do it but I can't figure out how to actually open the mods when I open Minecraft. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Use MultiMC It will port a copy of your minecraft folder and will allow you to install mods without fiddling around with the jar or with Magic launchers stupid junk.To install Jar mods the easist way to do so is to go into Instances go into an instance and drag the .zip of the mod you want it to install and bamm just launch MultiMC and your running them (UNLESS THEY DON'T WORK TOGETHER)

So I have to use multiplayer in order for mods to work? Do I need to join a certain server for it?
I don't know what tutorials you've been reading, but it's as simple as extracting the mod into the minecraft.jar and than opening it. Anyway, I suggest you take a look at MagicLauncher, that's what I use. It loads mods without needing to edit the minecraft.jar. http://www.minecraft...-profiles-news/
