I was wondering is someone could help me/offer advice
I had just installed FTB ultimate, which I added optifine to, and noticed the performance was terrible. Compared to my normal performance, listed below, it was terrible.
Computer Specs:
(from dxdiag)
System Information
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130318-1533)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
System Model: HP Pavilion m7 Notebook PC
BIOS: InsydeH2O Version 03.71.51F.0B
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8092MB RAM
Page File: 3115MB used, 13064MB available
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: Using System DPI
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled
DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode
Settings:
Standard Texture Pack, View Distance Far, In a 2x2 Hole, OpenGL on, Max FPS, fancy graphics, and smooth lighting, VySync On, FullScreen Off, SSP
Vanilla MC 1.5.1
-60 fps (which is screen maximum), 30 chunk updates
-Used Memory 20%: (205MB) of 910MB
-Allocated Memory: 53% (490MB)
Task Manager records one javaw.exe process
javaw.exe (CPU:07) 478,260KB
Task Manager records two javaw.exe processes
javaw.exe (CPU:09) 1,149,999KB
javaw.exe (CPU:00) 94,008KB
Anyone know why this is happening? I have Java 7 Update 21, both the 32 and 64 bit versions (because my internet browser is 32 bit). As I said, i was in a hole both times, without ANY nearby machinery (they were newly generated worlds). Are the ambient processes of the mods installed enough to make my fps drop by more than half?
BTW: Don't tell me that my graphics card is bad. I already know that!
You might need to try out a Java Argument - -XX:MaxPermSize=512m. That expands the perm size and lets Minecraft uses more RAM when loading chunks etc, -XX:MaxPermSize=1056M also works and more etc, I use this on my custom modded series and works and fix imense lag (from 20FPS to atleast 60FPS).
