I'm trying to make a simple mod using the Forge API, and everything works fine from eclipse, but when I try to install the mod my custom item texture are missing, but what's weird is that my custom blocks textures are still working just fine, even though I don't think I did anything differently between the two.

EDIT: to anyone eventually reading this: I've solved my problem. don't know how though, I recompiled the mod to test an unrelated feature and found out the missing textures were now magically showing up.
