Current mods:
Optifine
Rei's Minimap
Forge
Biomes O' Plenty
Inventory Tweaks
Twilight Forest
(also JourneyMap, though that was recently removed in an attempt to rectify the problem, but didn't work)
Basically, after about 15 minutes of playing the game just kinda dies. Like the game struggles for anything to happen. This includes pausing the game as well. Once I'm at the title screen there is very little lag.
The last thing I did was remove JourneyMap as it was the last mod I added before I started having this problem. I also changed the game save interval to 30 minutes as Optifine says something about the lag of death, and I thought it was worth a shot. But neither of these things did anything apparently.
The other thing of note is this didn't start happening until I started a new map. Before that I had been playing on a map I started a while back, so Biomes O' Plenty and Twilight Forest weren't of any real concern. I thought maybe that had something to do with it.
However, I had this same issue the last time I played Minecraft, which was sometime around 1.4.7. The only mods I had were Optifine and Rei's Minimap. Yet after some time the game began to lag the same way, no matter what map I was playing. Sometime after that I started playing Tekkit Lite with friends and never had this issue, so unless there's some significant difference between Minecraft and Tekkit Lite it's hard for me to believe it's a hardware problem. Also having not played in a while, I decided to do a clean install, more or less, and mod that with the latest version of mods I wanted.
This is very distressing, as I was excited to start playing Minecraft again, and this very problem made me not want to play Minecraft for a while. I really would like to get to the bottom of this.
Since the game never actually crashed because of this problem, I have no crashlog, but I can at least post some computer details from a different crashlog:

okay no, still acting up. nor am I entirely sure when it starts acting up, either.
according to the task manager, when Minecraft dies the CPU is running at 100%, the majority of that being java. I know my processor isn't exactly top of the line, but this is ridiculous.
