Ever since I installed Minecraft version 1.5.2 I have been unable to install mods.
I've installed mods before and know the basic process, but even after I delete the META-INF folder I get a black screen. If I just delete the META-INF folder and don't add anything, it's fine, but if I try and add ANYTHING to the minecraft.jar folder I get a black screen.
Does anyone know what's going on?
All I really want is Optifine, and this is driving me up the wall because I can't figure out why it's not working.
Really? Is that new pertaining to this update?
I was always told to delete the entire folder in the past, and I always have.
Also, yes that is the version I was trying to use. I'll try again and see if just deleting the two files instead of the entire folder will help :/
I delete the whole META-INF folder when I use mods and it works fine. Make sure the mods you are installing are updated for 1.5.2 Optifine has updated and I havent been able to find a Better Sprint mod yet so just wait a while and hopefully it will come out soon

Also you do not delete the whole META-INF folder, you delete the 2 files in it that has "MOJANG" in its name.
I was always told to delete the entire folder in the past, and I always have.
