(I wasn't sure if this should be in modded client support or client support...)
I was trying to install some mods for my game (I heard that they probably work offline) and I had a backup of my minecraft.jar file in case something went wrong. Yeah, I click and dragged the backup into my bin folder instead of copy-pasting like I should have; then i tried installing the mods again and since I couldn't figure it out I went to restore it to normal with the backup and realized that I click and dragged it earlier instead of copy-pasting it so I don't have any way to put my minecraft back to normal (It just sits at a black screen now) I tried re-downloaded then running that but it didn't work, I also click force update but it doesn't do anything, it just says "will force!" in a white bar and nothing changes or restores itself at all. Is my minecraft just permanently broken?
No, it's not cracked. I downloaded the client from the website. Playing the demo straight from the internet froze a lot so I played it from the client. (I can't buy the game right now sadly) I found out there was an offline mode when I didn't type in my login information and I just play that until I can buy the game. And I tried deleting the entire bin folder, when I run minecraft again the bin folder shows up but it's empty and the game doesn't work.

Just delete the entire bin folder, then have it redownload.
You aren't cracked I hope. If not, why are you in offline mode?
