While this problem doesn't involve a mod, it does involve something that can't be done in vanilla Minecraft.
Lots of people use Ghast fireball spawners in custom maps that spawn fireballs the player can punch and send at buildings, mobs, etc. However, I can't play any of these maps because my Minecraft immediately crashes whenever a fireball spawns. No one I've mentioned this to currently has this problem, and everyone who used to have it fixed it by updating Minecraft past 1.3. I'm in 1.4.6, I have a fresh, unmodded bin, and I have the latest version of Java, but the problem still persists. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Retired StaffYou can say that you do all you want, but the error report shows what version you are using, and it isn't the latest.
So. You are using java 6 update 27. The latest java 6 is update 38, so you are 11 versions behind.
There is also Java 7 which is at update 10.

Huh. Interesting. I tried downloading Java 7 earlier, and it apparently didn't work, so I'll try Java 6.
