hi i'm new here and i have a problem. my game version is 1.5.1 and when i use optifine hd texture packs dont work but they did before 1.5 with optifine
Did you redownload optifine after the 1.5.1 update? It may be that the version you're using is the 1.5 version and won't be compatible with the 1.5.1 version.

no i did download it again and when i dont have optifine on the hd texture pack works an hd texture pack like lb photorealism and when i exit out with the hd texture pack on and go back in with optifine my game crashes
i did that to. i just dont get it i'm hoping it will be fixed in 1.6 or 2.0 i just dont know. it didnt do that in 1.4.7 or before

Anyways, make sure you've installed the latest version of Optifine, did every step correctly, and put the Texture Packs in the correct spot.
I tried c4 also I still didn't work maby I should downgrade minecraft to 1.5 to see if that works because I haven't tried that version yet if not I'll just have to downgrade back to 1.4.7

The only problem I see is that you may not be doing something right. Can you explain your entire process when installing optifine? Also, if you're going to downgrade Minecraft versions, remember to also downgrade Optifine versions.

You should downgrade to C4 since C6 is still a WIP and just a preview. Not sure why there isn't a C5.
