Okay, i need some aid with my minecraft launcher. whenever i attempt to run the launcher, it will bring up the default security warning about the publisher not being verified. the two buttons it shows under the message are the "run" and "cancel" one. i hit run. then i get a message from Java Virtual Machine Launcher. it says could not create the Java virtual machine. i use java 6, but i get similar results with java 7 as well. the same error with a beginning of "fatal error occured" and an end of "program will exit." i have an Anjo Caido launcher, i tried it and it does the exact same thing. i then swapped to the minecraft magic launcher. it works fine. this suggests that it is in fact, a problem with the Java Virtual Machine Launcher launching the minecraft.exe. however, i noticed on the new snapshot that there is a new launcher that is required to run mc from 1.6+. i thought, "maybe this launcher will work better on my computer than the older minecraft launcher. so i tried to run the snapshot. i got no luck and the same error. here is a java debug log:
java version "1.6.0_43"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_43-b01)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 20.14-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
now i am in a dire situation. i figure that the magic launcher (which hasnt been updated for awhile now) wont be able to support 1.6 once its out, so i will need to fix this problem if i wish to continue playing minecraft into 1.6 and beyond.
Please note that i am on a Gateway netbook running a version Windows XP 32-bit made in 2002. any help would be very much appreciated.
thank you.
