I recently upgraded to windows 8 and I have been having issues with my game since then. It lags on everything (inclueding the login, title screen, and any menu.) I have used MC Patcher to test my game. Here is the log:
Launching C:\Users\White Rabbit\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar
java -cp "C:\Users\White Rabbit\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin/minecraft.jar;C:\Users\White Rabbit\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin/lwjgl.jar;C:\Users\White Rabbit\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin/lwjgl_util.jar;C:\Users\White Rabbit\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin/jinput.jar;" "-Djava.library.path=C:\Users\White Rabbit\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\natives" -Xmx2048M -Xms512M net.minecraft.client.Minecraft
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Minecraft exited with status 1
I have tried reserving more RAM for my game, 2 G, but still nothing. I know that the issue might be Java 7 update 17; however, due to Windows 8, I'm not sure if I can down grade my Java or not. I read that Java 7 was the only one compatible for windows 8.
Thank you in advance for any help given.
