I am having a problem with my sound on minecraft, I tried to make a mod that would change the sounds for Minecraft but somehow I messed up my sound, I tried everything from force updating to re-downloading the Minecraft client (which took over an hour because my internet is so damn crap). I messed with a lot of stuff inside the .minecraft folder, so after about 3 hours of trying to fix this I was wondering if anyone that has one send me a link to their unmodified .minecraft folder.
Thanks, Bob_O_Tron.
Also I checked out my speakers and they are completely fine, my minecraft sound is also on and not muted or anything like that (obviously :P).

It seems you missed one little tiny step into getting a fresh install, which would be deleting the .minecraft folder.
You'll want to back up your 'saves' and 'stats' folders inside of the .minecraft folder so you don't lose your worlds or statistics.
Once you've backed them up, you'll want to delete the ENTIRE .minecraft folder.
Then run the Minecraft application. It should automatically re-download all of the stock/default resources for you.
That is my best answer as to how to fix it. Although I'm only going at it this way because you never mentioned whether or not you had deleted the .minecraft folder.
If this fixes it, then yay :D. If it doesn't, we'll move on from there and try other methods.
Good Luck!
