Hey guys im not sure if this is the right section to post but here we go, ive recently got back into PC Minecraft and am loving it again finally. But there are two issues which are seriously bugging me, first one i hope is easy to solve as it annoys me the most.
Firstly here are my specs
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz 2.67GHz
4GB of RAM
64 bit Windows 8 operating system
Nvidia GeForce GT 440 Graphics Card
Every few seconds when im walking around or even just standing there, the screen flashes almost as if i blink for a second or more and then open my eyes, i am running 1.5.1 and am using Optifine as well so if anyone can help me with that i would hugely appreciate it.
And the second issue could be either the way i have all my settings setup graphically/my internet/the servers connection. I can almost rule out the servers connection cause not as many people experience the issue when i am. When i am playing the game it can comfortably run anywhere between 90-230 FPS but normally averages around 110 (if anyone can tell me how to make it always around 200FPS would be great) but when im playing if i make a sharp turn or jump and turn the game has what i would call a lag spike, but noone else has experienced it at the time i do.
I fiddled with some settings and some things make my game run at 45FPS some things make it run at 230FPS and some make the spikes occur less but dont completely rid the game of them. If anyone could give me some suggestions as to what to download, and what settings i should have set on my graphics card/Optifine to make everything work smoothly i would love them forever.
And yes i did update all drivers, did so yesterday.

EDIT: I am not using the Optifine that has Multi Core support i read it was better not to... im using the one under it... any advice is great
