World is lagging due to error "[CLIENT] [WARNING] Memory connection overburdened" [3 mods]

Hey everyone I am new to the process but I will do my best to make this clean cut and easy to understand.

I am running a multiplayer survival server on my mac and have been for quite some time with no issues or problems.

My computer setup:
15-inch, Mid 2010
Processor 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB
Software OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)
java SE 7 Update 17
64-bit

I have been following some LP's as of late and felt that I would benifit from using the mods:
Rei's Minimap (which requires modloader) 1.5.1
Mod loader 1.5.1
Optifine 1.5.1 HD U B1

Being that I am new to the mod world the update to 1.5/1.5.1 threw me for a loop. I was able to finally get everything to update properly and it was working just fine until last night. I logged in and the lag that I was experinceing was unbearable to the point where I would move > freeze > wait a minute or two > move > freeze > wait a minute or two. It felt like my computer was being very unresponsive. I took a look into the log for magic launcher and found that there were some [client] errors.

It should be noted that I am not modifying the jar file, did not need to for 1.4.7 and would like to refrain from doing so. I have very very limited background, and would appreciate any help that is offered, thank you and I will do my best to answer any questions that are asked of me.
