I have been trying for literally 3 hours to find a guide that is both up to date and functional, none are. I've got the latest minecraft version (1.5.1), and installed the mod on my local single player MC account. I'm running a server off of my PC for a friend and I, and I just need to get this to work on my server. If anyone could help, or give me an actually useful tutorial, that would be great. Thanks in advance.
Firstly, you don't install mods to your account, you install it to your client (Which you've probably done anyway). Second of all, you don't install Rei's minimap to a server, it's a client side mod, so just get your friend to install it with you and you'll be fine. Finally, wrong section.

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.

I think minecraft should have implemented a minimap. Even though if they do they probably wont do it as good as reis minimap so they might not bother. I mean i love to see the map, the slime box and all that. Minecraft would put fog off war in it. Somehow i wish you could have it in the server.. but not everyone wants the map. That's why it is best left for the client. Also this is in wrong section. i believe, modding and mapping is the place you want to go for asking about this. My post should be in suggestions.
