I am so lost I don't even know how to start. I run Minecraft on a Mac. It runs with no problems, and I'm looking to play with mods. I was trying to find an automatic mod installer, but I keep hitting dead ends so I thought I'd just learn to do it the manual way, and I found this thread - http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1583649-general-guide-to-installing-mods/ which looks perfect - nice step by step instructions. The problem now, is when I open terminal and type the first command in the list, terminal gives me an error. -
So I don't even know how to begin installing modloader and forge, which I think I'm discovering are the first 2 things that have to be done before you can think about installing mods. Right?
Also, I don't really understand the difference, if there is any, in mojang and minecraft. I have a mojang account that gave me a download link for the program - here is a screen shot of the program I have -
I hope someone can help get me started in the right direction before I go completely insane trying to get an understanding of how all of this works.

Please note that you choose either one of the APIs to install, not both.
