Let me start off by saying that this problem is very very recent, I've never had any kind of minecraft connection lag before.
I've been playing with Technic's launcher now for quite a while, playing on a Voltz server, and a Scourgecraft server. Two days ago I was playing and then everything got super laggy, and it kept disconnecting me, giving me various connection related errors. I decided to run a few tests, like opening up and streaming some youtube videos, and they all seemed to run fine and buffer fine. I also had no problems connecting to any websites. So I decided to do a ping test to the server I was trying to connect to, and noticed quite a few packets were being lost. The ping seemed to stay somewhere around the 100-150 ranged, but every so often I'd get a lost packet. If I ran the normal ping where it sent out 4 packets, sometimes I'd get a 25%/50%/75% loss, so I decided to let ping run for a couple minutes, and it seemed like it settled on 25%.
I had read somewhere that minecraft isn't that great at handling lost packets, so I'm assuming I've found my issue. I also ran a tracert, and never got any lost packets back on it, then again tracert isn't really to test for lost packets, only whether or not you are losing connection somewhere down the line. I've tried pinging to google, and yahoo and don't really notice quite as many lost packets, then again these servers are all located in different places. I have also tried connecting straight to my modem, and I get the same issue. I've been putting off making this post for a day or 2 now because I wanted to make sure it wasn't something that was gonna go away on it's own. I'd appreciate if anyone had any input on my issue, and what I should do to resolve it. Thank you for your time.
