When I play Minecraft or Tekkit, I play in a world and build a house. Then I go mining, get wood, etc. When I go back to my house from doing said chore, my game drops to 0 fps then buffers out and becomes laggy on and off. I want to know why this is happening. I have a i5 3570K and a Gtx 660 so there shouldn't be and problems with my specs.
Do you have other windows open while playing? I suggest CTRL + ALT + DEL open task manager and just see whats taking up ur CPU. That usually helps me identify the issue and correct it.
Hmmm... well, I only assumed 1.5, as that is the version that is most commonly (at the moment) associated with lag.
I genuinely have no other suggestion than to post it in a more relevant section,
Or, the only other thing I can deduce, is lots of RAM usage (what is your RAM by the way?),
Or background processes.
Or Viruses, and malware.
Sorry, it sounds grim. Maybe it is!
i appreciate you replying to try and help and I have 8gb of ram. I doubt i have a virus because Kapersky would detect it.
It happens on singleplayer not multiplayer
Well thats weird cause im on 1.2.5 on tekkit and 1.4.7 on minecraft
Sound => Try turning sound to 0 (minecraft doesn't work on the sound = less lag)
Video Settings => Partials off and OpenGL mode on/off (you need to find out what is better) and render distance to Tiny
World => Chunks are loading, recommend to let the computer run for half a hour so everything is loaded.

I'm pretty sure sound has nothing to do with lag
