i hope i'm in the right place to post this. i just updated my minecraft to the latest version and now the mods i've installed is gone. i still hav the files though. what should i do?
That is because mods are version specific. When you updated, you removed Forge/Modloader, of which is needed for the mods to work. You must also know that currently, most mods are incompatible with 1.5 right now.
When you update your Minecraft all the mods that were from the older Minecraft version are gone because the mods are made for the older version not the newer one. So you have to wait till the mod makers updates the mods to the newer version.
I would advise posting this in the Maps and Modding area, as they can give you links (on the forum) to mods compatible with 1.5.
Also, the title of this should be something like: "Help me with compatible mods in 1.5" etc...

Well as you know the update came out and now the mods are outdated so therefore dont work on the current version until the creators of the mod/plugin have updated the mod you wont be able to play with them
