Recently my minecraft game has been experiencing crashing in the nether. It's gotten worse over time. Originally, I thought it was a random, mysterious problem because my game started working the next day perfectly fine. Then it crashed again, once again in the nether. This time it did not subside and I was not able to even log in. However, after setting the game on peaceful I was able to log in and leave the nether. (A ghast had been attacking me as the game crashed. Once it was on peaceful and the ghast dissapeared, it was no longer lagging out of my game. At least, that's what I assume.)
At this point I assumed I could enter the nether as long as my game was on peaceful with the graphics set all the way down. This worked for a little while, but recently when I tried to enter the nether with these precautions it crashed as soon as I entered. I have tried again multiple times. I cannot enter the nether at all at this point.
I have tried deleting any extra javas from my computer, allocating extra memory, and force updating.
It's probably also very important to mention I use the Better Than Wolves mod. I don't believe this is the cause, though, because this mod adds a lot of features to the nether. I've also visited the thread for it and I've not seen anyone complaining of a similar problem. I did, however, play today without the mod and updated to minecraft 1.5 and I was able to walk around the nether fine. I play Better Than Wolves in 1.4.7 so I can't be sure if it's the minecraft version or the mod, unfortunately.
Although I ackowledge the possibility the simple addition of a mod could make minecraft not run as well
