I am getting ton of lag in the overworld (60 fps) and in the nether 300 FPS. Shouldn't the nether be more laggy?
My specs:
gtx 670
amd fx 8120
24gb ram
windows 8
I am running on normal render distance becuase far render distance is too jittery
Oddly enough youre right. Though i wouldnt call it strange. On occasion i get a hell of alot better frames in the nether than i do in overworld. For me it goes back and forth at random given points in time. i wouldnt put too much effort into the issue, what do you use to record?

I use fraps but this doesn't happen when i record, this is just normal playing. I was able however to reset my optifine settings and get up to 70 FPS on far render distance. I have found that fragmentation can also play a role in this even when on a server!
