ok so right off the bat, i start minecraft. yesterday it worked fine I have optifine installed, and like 20 texture packs, windows 7 4 gigs of ram, im on a laptop computer. (toshiba)
I run a server off of my computer, for only me and friends to play on.
However today i started getting this error
LostConnection:Disconnect:genericReason
I uninstalled optifine force updated and then tried to play, worked perfectly no booting me
(the oddest part is it doesnt come to a black screen even when i reinstalled optifine, it goes through everything, then just boots me when i get in game, and turns minecraft off)
I reinstalled optifine thinking maybe i had just messed something up, and then all of a sudden......it did it again. It only does it with optifine installed. No black screen (ive deleted the meta inf files AND also deleted the whole Meta Inf folder) Still does the SAME THING
First off, wrong forum and secondly, it's because of the internet, when your minecraft can't get any signal from the server, it will automatically disconnect.
probelm with that, i have perfect internet speed for mc, also the best money can buy, on top of that, i have a dedicated server, and constant wired connection. No power outages or anything, also the ports are forwarded for it, and the power isnt going on or off here so idk why internet would do that
also sorry about the wrong forum, im new, and I could not find the correct forum, so I posted in the most likely of threads to give help. thank you for replying
Here is the fix guys!!!! Minecraft needs at least 1gig of ram to play properly, and sometimes, your computer doesnt allocate enough speed!!! When you try to play, it will boot you off, (or lag horribly) and possibly crash minecraft!!!! How to fix:
you see the problem occurs when it doesnt have enough memory to continue running (it will run fine for a few days at first, but then all of a sudden - memory allocated too small) this happens with too many texture packs it has to read or too many world saves!
to fix it, you need to tell your computer that when java is running it gets a certain amount of RAM, and no less, or else you get a
X lost connection: disconnect.genericReason
(you will only see this if you are running a personal server or similar)
I did all this research myself, no help (including from google!!!)
so please guys, play, have fun, and lets mine!!!!!
can moderators please sticky this in the proper thread, so people can fix their minecraft?
