So i have a new HP Envy laptop with windows 8 and an AMD A8 series processor.
Im having trouble installing mods to my minecraft. ive watched multiple tutorial videos to try to figure it out but it just wont work.
i do everything right: go into the bin file and open the jar file with winrar (made copies of the jar file just in case). i delete the META-INF folder. i open the mod file with winrar, select all class files and drag them into the minecraft rar archive. should be done right? so i open minecraft and go into my world and it didnt work. the mods i was trying to install were timber mod, rei's minimap, and mo'creatures.

the minimap doesnt come up, timber doesnt work, and there aren't mo'creatures. if anyone could help me i would greatly appreciate it.

Sorry but did you use Modloader, if not then it wont Work. shurely one of those videos must have told you that you need Modloader.

You need to install Forge (an alternative to Modloader) for Mo' Creatures. Don't install Modloader and Forge together, you must pick one. Make sure you read the installation instructions very carefully for each mod. For example, for Mo Creatures you will need to install another 2 things before it will work.
