ok as the title says i can't connect to my brother's LAN even though we have made sure our mods are identical.
this issue ONLY happens when he hosts(i stopped hosting cause after a while i'm getting an out of memory error, his computer has more memory), my other brother seems to be getting the same issue, when i host they can both connect without an issue. we've tried making sure the port is open on our firewalls.
details on what i'm running:
we're all 3 using MultiMC, i'm on windows XP SP3 with java(32bit) Version 7 Update 15
mods*: balkon's weaponmod, forge, backpack, Optifine, damage indicators, deathchest, mo'creatures, craftguide, buildcraft, rei's minimap, minechem(BC addon), Thaumcraft 3, Essentia everything(tc3 addon), gui_api and custom mob spawner.
*all mods are latest as of this post as far as i know, and we all 3 have made sure we had the same mods and versions
the only thing it says is failed to connect to server connection timed out:connect.
though i have noticed this odd error popping up in multiMC's console when i open the multiplayer menu:
