Alright, I tried downloading multiple mods for 1.4.7 (not at the same time, mind you) and my game still worked, but it didn't have the mods.

I KNOW that I:
-Deleted META-INF
-Installed the mods correctly
-Tried reinstalling the mods multiple times, just in case I missed something

Note: My force update doesn't work, either, so I have to manually delete the failed modded minecraft.jar and replace it with a clean minecraft.jar that was downloaded.

So far, I have had this problem with:
1.4.7 Mo' Creatures
1.4.7 Doggy Talents
1.4.7 Sophisticated Wolves

I install Modloader AND/OR Forge, if required, every time I download a mod. Thank you for trying to help, thoughAlso, can you please change the post icon BACK to the regular water bucket icon? I didn't reply, therefore you don't know whether it's fixed or not.

Wait, you use Modloader?

Two things:

1. Forge and Modloader are incompatible
2. If you choose between one or the other, choose Forge

Forge is far superior in terms of utility for modders. As a result, most mods do not support Modloader any more and only use Forge.

So the best thing you could do is force a redownload of the Minecraft.jar, and then only install Forge.

I use EITHER Modloader OR Forge, depending on what the download instructions say.

Read the part of that sentence that says "if required". Also, read the part on the same sentence that says AND/OR. Not just AND. I follow the download instructions.

No, I don't want to use any dumb programs. I just want to know if there's anything wrong with the minecraft.jar or .minecraft or anything like that.

Also, the reason I don't want to use programs is a long explanation... So, yeah.
