I can not get ModLoader to work. I have searched the internet far and wide for a solution, but my minecraft keeps crashing before I even get to the menu. I start always by deleting the Meta folder, then I drag all the ModLoader files into my minecraft.jar file. It asks me to replace files and i do (not sure if i am supposed to, but it seems like the right thing to do). Then when I log in, I see the Mojang screen, and then it crashes...every...single...time. Thank for taking the time to read this, and any help on the subject, would be greatly appreciated.
This is what it says, in case anyone can make sense of it:
Minecraft has crashed!

I don't think it's just a version bug, because I have been trying to mod my minecraft for a very long time. I've been trying since the beta versions and the same problem persists.
It could be a lot of things. Version bugs that cause crashed are common, but if you have been trying to mod your client since the Beta, then I honestly don't know what to tell you. Might I suggest using MinecraftForge instead. Most big mods now use Forge, and most mods that are compatible with are Modloader, are also compatible with Forge. Forge is also simpler to use and install than Modloader, and more up to date. Just a few mods that use Forge are: Buildcraft, IC2, EE3, Railcraft, and DivineRPG.
Hope I helped,
