I deleted my .minecraft folder and downloaded a new minecraft.exe from minecraft.net. It creates an empty .minecraft folder and the client looks like it's running fine except that it says..."Can't connect to minecraft.net" and it says that i haven't downloaded the game. I've tried force updating and that doesn't work either it just says cant connect. Has anyone encountered this before? I can access minecraft.net from my web browser but for some reason my client wont do it. please help me figure this out and maybe I can be more careful modding next time. (by copying the new one as soon as i get it. :P)
The login servers was offline just now, causing your problem. If it happens in the future, you can check for the status of the servers at http://help.mojang.com/
