I was preparing to update and remod my game when I got this problem. I had copied .minecraft and put it in a backup folder, but then when I clicked the Minecraft.exe icon (the grass block) it said it couldn't be found. What did I do to mess it up, and how do I fix it?
It sounds like you have the minecraft.exe in the minecraft folder, and had just made a shortcut to it on the desktop. When you moved the .minecraft folder, you broke the shortcuts link to the exe file.
