This thread is no longer necessary: I posted this in the wrong section and it was moved here, so I made an updated post in the unmodded section. Mods: feel free to delete this thread or, If this is inappropriate or against some rule I didn't see, the other one. Sorry!
Hey folks, sorry if this is the wrong place but I'm new here and a little desperate! I've been working for many hours on a project, a small but detailed house, and finally had it just right when Minecraft crashed. This has happened a few times, so I didn't pay much attention to the crash screen (which probably wouldn't have meant anything to me anyway), but when I reloaded, my new house was gone. It appears that the chunk it was in reloaded somehow, because the shape of the land is different than it ever has been, and a small part of the roof is still floating high off the ground.
I try to constantly back up my saves, but since all this work was done in the past several hours I lost it all. I copied the save file and have been trying to figure out how to fix it, following guides that involved changing level.dat files and even deleting the chunk in MCEdit, but I've had no success. So now I come to you, brave Minecraftforum-ites, in hopes that someone can help me out. I've never used MCEdit before, so I couldn't guarantee I did that right. I'm hoping this is somehow salvageable, because the building was the result of much tweaking, trial and error, and tedious high-rise shenanigans. Please help if you can Thanks!
Edit: In case it matters, the game crashed when I broke a jukebox to put it somewhere else.
