I highlighted your problems in bold. Also, you don't have a dedicated GPU which worsens the problem.
Your RAM is also probably DDR or DDR2 because it's such an old machine, which doesn't help either.
The only way to play Minecraft is to get a better PC.
You could sacrifice optifine for a better experience http://www.minecraft...aysnbxlite-ssp/
There's 3 mods on that page, you want SSP, it changes the Server Sided Single-Player into Client-Sided
Edit: SSP is not compatible with optifine
Man, I feel you. For about 2 years I always wanted MC, but my computer was really bad and I couldn't. I think it's got to do with the Java Runtime. Maybe try a fresh install of Java, and if you're really willing to, a new install of Windows/Mac/Linux.
But seriously. Your machine is starting to show its age, and sooner or later you'll probably end up getting a new rig. As someone else said, not having a GPU really worsens the problem.
thanks, but i don't have the money to just go out there and buy a new computerAnd my computer used to run minecraft fine in 1.2.5 and the earlier versions!
Also I don't lag if I'm in a desert because there isn't as many blocks, but as soon as I get near a building or lots of mountains and trees it lags like hell

I hope you work out your problem dude!
Does doing a new install of windows delete everything?
I been thinking and I'm going to by a laptop. Will this run minecraft and also could it run other games like skyrim, cod etc. I don't expect I at skyrim on high graphics either.
