Missing/Modified jar file?

Well I tried to install a 1.4.7 mod, and I realized that the minecraft jar file was missing.
Have they removed the jar and replaced it with something else? I have no idea what's going on. Maybe it got deleted.
I'd appreciate any insights or help.

Delete your bin folder, and Force update from the launcher.
