The x-ray mod i used to have is no longer working.

The patch since the upgrade along with the new mcpatcher upgrade seemed to corrupt the x-ray mod i used to always use.

I just want something simple without fly as I try to play as close to vanilla as possible, I just like to see whats underground. It makes me happy.

there is one that works on 1.4.2 here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/867079-142-xray-mod/ its always worked fine until the most recent release, it works fine, but for some reason I cant install it using mcpatcher.....I just install it manually and it works beautifully and is updated pretty fast as well

I can see water using this one http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/867079-142-xray-mod/ Are you sure it's just not your texture pack? Also did you patch with latest mcpatcher? With mcpatcher you also have to make sure you click everything including better grass etc.

This one no longer works as of today...

I have optifine and xray and it also doesn't work
