I'm trying to put a few mods in my game, but I can't even properly extract the files from minecraft.jar. Attempting to extract files from minecraft.jar with Winrar results in the following pop up:
The following file already exists
aux.class
It then gives me options to replace the file or not. I've tried all options, and none of them result in a proper extraction. The newly created folder is always missing aux.class, and it makes the game unplayable. I haven't even had a chance to add any mods yet due to this. Any suggestions? These are fresh winrar and minecraft downloads.
You don't even need to extract the mod archive either.
You can have the jar open in one winrar/7zip window and the mod open in a second winrar/7zip window, then just drag the files from the mod archive into the jar archive.
The aux.class is a forbidden file name in windows. As soon as you extract the jar, that file is deleted by windows.
