I correctly installed all of MC Forge's files into minecraft.jar, then I deleted META INF. I opened up Minecraft, and no black screen. I loaded a world and could walk around and interact, but as soon as i type E (open inventory) or ESC (Menu), Minecraft said, "Shutting down MP Server," and gave me a crash page.

Don't extract the jar, windows deletes the aux file when you extract the jar, it's a forbidden file name in windows.
Just open the jar in winrar or 7zip, and drag the forge files into the jar. then close the jar.
Or easier yet, use MultiMC and let install forge for you, so you don't have to open anything or drag anything.

Retired StaffDon't extract the jar, windows deletes the aux file when you extract the jar, it's a forbidden file name in windows.
Just open the jar in winrar or 7zip, and drag the forge files into the jar. then close the jar.
Or easier yet, use MultiMC and let install forge for you, so you don't have to open anything or drag anything.
