So I needed to install TMI for Minecraft while I already had Optifine for a project. I closed minecraft and proceeded to put the files into minecraft.jar, which I had done MANY times before. But when I tried to transfer them, WinRar puts up a message saying:
! Cannot rename __rzi_0.604 to C:\Users\Justin\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
After this point, __rzi_0.604 is added to my bin folder. If I try again, the number after rzi is different. I tried going to task manager and ending any process having to do with Minecraft and this still happens. I also tried to force update minecraft ,try different mods, and restarted my computer with no fix. What gives?
Since it was asked, I have Windows 7 64 bit and my java version is 1.7.0_09.
Try to rename the minecraft.jar itself. If you can, then Winrar is being a nub.
If you can't, then make sure no java.exe and javaw.exe processes are running.
Alright, I got it. Thanks a lot. I tried renaming it and it said it was open in Skype. I was sending it to my friend for a LAN "party" (just 3 people, so I guess it wasn't really a party :P) and it was in a group chat and only one person took it. I cancelled the sending and tried modding again and it worked. Thanks again!
Also, it's fine, they both bought Minecraft haha
