Hi, so I recently started playing minecraft on my new computer:
Processor: Core i7-3930k(six core) @3.2
Graphics: GTX 680(1x)
RAM: 32GB 1600mhz(I have tried allocating up to 16GB to minecraft)
OS: Windows 8 (64 bit)
Minecraft runs anywhere from 50-60 fps when I am running non-fullscreen vanilla, render distance on far. However, when I install optifine(I have installed multiple times both manually and with an installer) my fps will drop anywhere from 20-30fps. This is just ridiculous how I am using such a high end computer and still getting fps lag. I have tried allocating more ram(up to 16GB), I have deleted and reinstalled the .minecraft folder, I've changed EVERY SINGLE setting on both my graphics card control panel, and minecraft settings, and I've made sure that I have 64 bit java on my computer. I'm honestly getting extremely frustrated. Shouldn't I have like 400 fps on full screen? If anyone has any possible solutions please reply. I will continue to bump this thread until I have an answer as I have about had it with minecraft. Thankyou.
If you need any more information please notify me.
I have better computer specs and the most I get is around 60 - 80 fps when in full screen whether I use Optifine or not. What I can suggest is following these speed optimization guides.
