A while back, I saw a tutorial (how to run old versions of Mine craft) that featured a Launcher; one that managed multiple installations by allowing you to choose the folder you want to install Minecraft to.
My situation is as follows: I have a SSD that I'd like to run Minecraft from. I've seeded around with wonky launchers like MagicLauncher-- ones that allow you to choose your .jar file location, and ones that allow you to choose where you'd like to run Minecraft from...but ultimately, they've failed me. Magic launcher is unreliable, and pulls files from %appdata%, proven by the fact that I sometimes load it up, only to find that my mods are enabled (ones that have only been installed in the default location).
I need to ensure smooth gameplay for recording, and for-consumer, affordable RAMDisk solutions just aren't there yet.
I can't find the video the launcher was featured in, the tutorial page it was written about, and the search feature here, like with all forums, is weak unless you now unique words, or identifiers to use in the search terms.
Can someone help me out? I have a 64GB SSD that I'd like to use primarily for Minecraft. I'd like to install and launch multiple different installs from one screen, I don't want to mess around with batch files, and I need to keep my boot HDD free for recording, meaning I need to pull and run all resources from my secondary drive, the SSD.
